What stays in your browser
Item searches, condition answers, and checklist contents are handled locally. The rule engine runs in your browser; it does not send these answers to a language model, analytics service, or disposal API.
You choose a city manually. No full address is required, and we do not request geolocation, upload photos, or geocode addresses.
Saving is a separate choice
A temporary checklist uses browser session storage so it can follow you between pages in the same tab. It is separate from a saved copy. If browser storage is blocked, the list stays in page memory and you can export it before leaving.
“Remember this city” saves your city preference on this device. Saving the checklist is a separate action that keeps a copy in local storage between visits. After you choose Save, later checklist edits update that saved copy until you remove it. Those controls explain when data has been saved. Use “Forget saved city” or the checklist's remove-saved-copy control to delete the corresponding saved data.
You can view and clear the checklist on the My checklist page. Browser storage can be cleared by you or the browser, and data saved here does not sync to another device. If storage is unavailable, reading guides and using the local matcher still work.
What a website request reveals
Your hosting provider may receive ordinary requests for public pages, fonts, scripts, and a selected city's rule index, along with network information such as an IP address. Personal condition answers and checklist contents are not included in those requests.
Public item links contain only the city and item. The share action does not put your answers, list, address, or search text in the URL.
External links and downloads
Official source links and map links open external services only when you choose them. Those services have their own privacy practices. No map or third-party widget loads automatically.
JSON and CSV exports are generated locally and downloaded to your device. JSON import reads your chosen file locally. Exported files contain your checklist, so treat them as your own documents.
Updating the published guide
Source research and editorial updates happen separately from your browser. Your answers are not part of the source-review process.
